This was not as high of quality as I expected. The quilting isn't actually sewn, it's stamped. And the top fabric is a very loose weave, almost gauzy, and a bit scratchy. I had ordered a new one, but then received one of these as a hand-me-down, which I almost kept, but then I found a 12-inch rip in the skirt, which is consistent with some other reviews I've seen of this product. I'm returning this because I've found a waterproof crib mattress pad with a softer, higher thread-count top fabric, real quilting, and a bit more cushion than this one. Plus, the other one I found is a bit less expensive.

I purchased this same item at Walmart for a lot less. It measures 52 x 28. Check it out at a Walmart store to get the actual feel.

We have three toddlers and each of them has one of these pads. We've tried other more inexpensive brands but we found that they are either too flimsy or have a strong toxic-like odor emitting from them (that won't come out in the wash).

Our kids are much more comfortable with this pad instead of just the sheet. There's also an added warmth that's great for the colder months. We also use this for our toddler beds, not just for cribs.

As for the durability, even after several years of use, none of them have shrunk and they are all still in almost-new condition. No stains, no smells, no shrinkage!
